Overview

IPPortTest.com ("we", "us", or "our") is a free network diagnostics tool that allows users to test port reachability, check SSL certificates, inspect HTTP responses, and scan local network devices. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how data flows through our service.

The short version: We do not sell your data. We do not store your IP address in a database. Port test results are never logged. We serve ads via Google AdSense which has its own data practices described below.

// 02

Information We Collect

Automatically Collected

When you visit IPPortTest.com, our web server (Apache on Vultr) may temporarily log standard HTTP access data including:

These server access logs are used solely for security monitoring and server maintenance. They are not shared with third parties and are rotated regularly.

IP Geolocation Lookup

When you load the homepage, our server queries the ip-api.com geolocation service on your behalf to display your approximate location, ISP, and timezone. Your IP address is sent to ip-api.com's servers for this lookup. We do not store the result.

Information You Provide

When using the port tester, you may enter IP addresses or hostnames as test targets. These are used only to perform the requested test and are never stored, logged, or associated with your identity.

Third-Party Services

IPPortTest.com uses the following third-party services:

LAN & WAN Test Data

WAN Tests

When you perform a WAN port test, ICMP ping, HTTP check, or SSL certificate check, the target IP address or hostname you entered is sent to our server via probe.php. Our server then makes the connection to that target on your behalf and returns the result. The target address is not logged or stored.

Private IP ranges (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x, etc.) are explicitly blocked by our server to prevent abuse.

LAN Tests

LAN tests (port scan, gateway detection, individual port probes) run entirely within your browser using WebSocket and Fetch APIs. No LAN IP addresses, scan results, or local network information is transmitted to our server. Everything stays on your device.

// 07

Data Retention

We do not maintain a database of user information. Apache access logs on our server are retained for a maximum of 14 days for security purposes and then deleted automatically via log rotation. No test results, IP addresses, or session data is retained beyond the duration of your browser session.

// 08

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws including:

Since we do not maintain a persistent database of your personal information, most data subject requests can be fulfilled by confirming that we hold no data about you. To make a request, contact us at the address in section 12.

// 09

Security

IPPortTest.com is served exclusively over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate issued by Let's Encrypt. We take reasonable technical measures to protect our server and the data that passes through it, including:

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. However, because we do not store personal data, the risk of a data breach affecting you is minimal.

// 10

Children's Privacy

IPPortTest.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
